New CSO, CMO and a Pair of GCDs Join Expanding Management Team
New York, October 7, 2020 - Independent New York and Los Angeles based Decoded Advertising has significantly expanded its Senior Management team, announcing the hiring of four new executives to add to the leadership of its media, strategy and creative ranks. Nakia Clements assumes the role of Chief Media Officer, a new position for its growing media operations, Val Nguyen assumes a new role as Chief Strategy Officer, Kindra Meyer becomes the LA office’s Group Creative Director and Can Misirlioglu brings together the Design and Studio offering under the role of Head of Design and Craft.
“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to bring on this level of talent, which will have an immediate impact on the growth trajectory and capabilities of Decoded,” commented Matt Rednor, Founder and CEO. “We believe our clients will see immediate benefits with the additions of these talented individuals to our senior management ranks,” he added.
Clements most recently ran the media effort for the Bloomberg presidential campaign. Before that she had management roles at AMC Networks and prior to that at WPP and Publicis. Clements will oversee a growing media unit that is a key piece of Decoded’s highly successful integrated marketing solution.
Nguyen joins Decoded with over 10 years of experience at top creative agencies like Anomaly, Mother and was a Founding Partner and Co-Head of Strategy at Wolf & Wilhelmine, the well-regarded brand strategy consultancy. Nguyen will be responsible for leading and growing the integrated strategy team for the 170-person agency, advising on all aspects of creative strategy including brand identity and positioning, research and experimental design, consumer insights, campaign strategy, performance marketing and user experience.
Meyer is an award-winning multidisciplinary creative director who has driven creative solutions for a variety of global brands and innovative agencies. From her start at Wexley School For Girls to her last appointment as ECD of Civic, she is known for disrupting tradition and brings a fresh approach to integrated marketing platforms. Meyer will head Decoded LA’s creative team into their next phase of growth.
Misirlioglu is also an award-winning creative who successfully defined studio models at R/GA studios and Havas’ Studio6 as an ECD and GCD respectively. During his tenure in the industry, he’s worked with global clients such as Nike, HP, Samsung, The New York Times, Beats by Dre and Google. At Decoded, Misirlioglu aims to codify the ever-evolving landscape of how creative and studio services work together into a new model for design, animation, edit, art and copy.
All four individuals have commented on the extraordinary thought provoking culture at Decoded. “The inquisitive spirit and desire to explore beneath the surface and understand why things are reacting a certain way is what truly attracted me to Decoded,” noted Clements. “At its heart, strategy is about progress. I’m excited to join Decoded to push strategy forward by truly integrating the various strategic disciplines to continue powering a new model,” added Nguyen.
